Lake Fork Report 3/2010

Posted on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in Fishing Reports

As I write this report fishing has been a little tough the past couple of days.  However, things are about to change with the warmer days and in a few days our nights will be a lot warmer.  I have been catching fish in different parts of the lake and on different baits.  The way things are going now the best thing to do is pick up a bait that you have the most confidence in a stick with it.  For me my lure choice are spinnerbaits, rattlebaits, and chatterbaits.  I have been trying to cover as much water as possible and catch the most active fish in the area.

There are other baits that will work well to if slower fishing is what you would rather do.  As always a jig will catch its share of big fish on Fork in the spring as will a lizard and any senko type bait.  Lizards and jigs will work better along shallow creek channels and little drops and the senko type baits will be better around shallow grass and flats.  Suspending jerkbaits will also work well to this time of year.  I prefer a chrome/blue on a clear day and a gold/black back on a dark day.

I still have a few days open in March which are the 7,11,22, and the 28.  Please let me know if I can be of any help.

Lake Fork Report 2-2010

Hey Guys

Hope you guys are all doing well and looking forward to some spring fishing.  As most of you know it has been a colder than normal winter and since September it has been a wetter than usual fall and winter.  The lake is normal pool right now and water temperatures are still pretty cold.  Last week the water temps warmed to the 50′s and we were able to catch some nice quality fish on spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits.  I look forward to some warm temps in the near future and as soon as that happens the big bass will be on the move.  If you have not booked a spring trip yet and would like to call me or email me anytime.  Here is my current available days for February and March.  Here is a picture of an 8.6lb from last week.

Lake Fork Report 01/25/2010

Posted on Sunday, January 24, 2010 in Fishing Reports

Isn’t amazing how time flies?  I can hardly believe it is the end of January 2010.  Most of my fishing recently has been crappie fishing.  The crappie fishing was great until we had those nights down in the teens and the highs in the 20s for several days.  After that string of cold weather the crappie have moved so deep that they are hard to catch.  I look forward to hitting the lake this week and doing some bass fishing especially after the warm week we had last week.  I know the water is still cold but it has warmed enough to trigger a few bass to be biting lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and jigs.  I will post another report in the next couple of weeks to keep everyone posted on the bass fishing.  I still have some days available for this spring so if you haven’t booked a day yet and would like to give me a call anytime at (903)780-0680 or email at brogers8202@aol.com.
