Lake Fork Report 5/2010

Posted on Thursday, May 6, 2010 in Fishing Reports

Fishing on Lake Fork the past several weeks has been great.  With bass now in all phases of the spawn especially late spawn and post spawn there are a variety of techniques working.  Most days I have been catching fish on Yellow Magics in the mornings up to 9 lbs. and some days catching fish all day on the Yellow Magic depending on wind and light conditions.  Shallow diving crankbaits like the Mann’s Minus-1 have been working well along wind blown weeds and on spawning flats.  Plastics are still working well to especially around cattails and new growing lily pads.  Lately I have caught some nice bass on a full size brush hog in these types of areas along with any other weightless plastics.  The next technique that I have done well with is a deeper diving crankbait(one that dives 4-7 feet) and concentrating on wind blown points at the mouths of spawning pockets on the main lake.  Crankbaits like a Norman Little N, Deep Baby N, or a Strike King series 2 and 3 are working well in these places.

My 2009 Skeeter 225 ZX is still for sale at $35,900 which is below blue book value.  This boat is in great shape and desperately needs a new home.

Here are the days I currently have open now thru mid June.  Check out the pictures and call me anytime to book a trip at (903) 780-0680.

Lake Fork Report 4/2010

Posted on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in Fishing Reports

Fork is on fire now.  Today we had over 40 and yesterday on a half day had 16 with a pair of 6 lbers.  I have been catching bass on both the north end of the lake and south end and everywhere in between with about the same results everywhere I go.  I’m pretty much just throwing 3 different baits.  Texas-rigged lizards in both 6 or 8 inch sizes and whatever color you want.  I pretty much stay with watermelon shades during clear skies and black during cloud cover.  I’ve also caught fish almost on the bank with the lizards and with weightless plastics like senkos and flukes.  For the little deeper fish I’m fishing a floating rogue moving it with a fast twitch twitch pause retrieve in water 3-6 feet.  Here are the dates I have available from now thru the end of May.  Call my cell anytime at (903)780-0680. CHECK OUT MORE PICTURES IN THE PHOTO GALLERY!

Lake Fork Report 3-2010

Posted on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in Fishing Reports

After a long cold winter spring has finally sprung here on Lake Fork.  I have enjoyed some good catches in the past few days due to the warming water temperatures.  There are several patterns working right now and these patterns are working in several locations.  The technique that I have going right now that is producing the most bites is fishing a floating Rogue.  On dark days I’m fishing gold/black back and on sunny days chrome/blue back.  I’m fishing these baits just beneath the surface with a fairly fast twitch-twitch pause retrieve and some of the strikes are almost on the surface.  The next best pattern for me right now is a Texas-rigged lizard watermelon/red on clear days and black neon on dark days.  The lizard has produced the larger fish lately with fish up to 7.5 lbs. respectively.  For these larger females I’ve been concentrating on secondary points leading back in the creeks trying to keep my lizard in the 3-6 foot depths.  Hope you enjoy the photos.  If you would like to book a spring trip here are the remaining dates I have available.  You can reach me anytime on my cell at (903)780-0680.
